Raid left 12 arrested for sending cocaine to the US and Europe

Colombian authorities, supported by the British, captured 12 people who were sending cargoes in various parts of the country. of cocaine to Central America, the United States and Europereported the Attorney General’s Office.

The raid allowed the captures in Bogotá, Villavicencio (Meta), Cúcuta (North of Santander), Cali and Palmira (Valle del Cauca) Medellín (Antioquia) and Leticia (Amazonas).

A prosecutor from the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking charged the detainees with crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or possession of aggravated drugs; and conspiracy to commit a crime for drug trafficking purposes.

Throughout the investigation of the drug trafficking structure 783 kilos of cocaine and 37,800 dollars were seized from him.

In the four-year term of former President Iván Duque, which ended on August 7, they were eradicated 391,947 hectares of coca, 20,722 laboratories for cocaine processing were destroyed and 2,071 tons of cocaine were seized.

Likewise, during that period they were extradited 717 people, of them 622 Colombians. The rest correspond to citizens of Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela.

According to the Ministry of Justice 89% of those extradited were for crimes related to drug trafficking.
