The prosecutor Raphael Velacoordinator of the Lava Jato team, spoke about the request for 36 months of preventive detention against the general secretary of Peru Libre, Vladimir Cerronwhich is evaluated by the Judiciary.
After the suspension of the hearing where this request is seen, Vela Barba was confident that the preventive detention against Cerrón Rojas will be declared founded, since he assured that there are solid elements that the Prosecutor’s Office has managed to collect.
“We are at first with all the solid elements of conviction that the Prosecutor’s Office has managed to collect. So we are going to wait for the whole debate to develop and the Public Ministry is fully convinced that preventive detention must be declared founded in due course.”, he declared to the press.

The prosecutor also explained that there are 300 elements that will be discussed during the hearings, since the one that was held this Monday was suspended and will continue on Wednesday the 16th, Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th of November.
“There are almost 300 elements that are going to be discussed within the development of the hearings and, therefore, it demands an amount of time that has exceeded the limits that the judge had to establish the rationality of the delivery of information. Then it will be divided into three more additional sessions”, he reported.
Likewise, Raphael Vela indicated that with a possible influence of Vladimir Cerron in power, due to the proximity to the government of the president Pedro Castillothis research may be affected
“To the extent that Mr. Cerrón continues to deploy his activities and its possible influence within power, obviously the investigation can be seriously damaged and there can also be a risk of flight”, he stressed.

Cerrón Rojas is being investigated for the alleged crime of criminal organization, because according to the prosecutor’s thesis, the Peru Libre party was used as a front for the alleged money laundering from cases such as Los Dinámicos del Centro or La Gran Familia.
The Public Ministry indicates that the criminal network known as Los Dinámicos del Centro used public positions in the Regional Government of Junín to commit crimes and finance the activities of Peru Libre, a group that led Pedro Castillo Terrones to the presidency.
