Likewise, according to Vela, another of Fernández Jerí’s reasons to suspend it would be to avoid applying to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Plaza that was empty with the departure of Patricia Benavides.

Regarding the case of his colleague Domingo Pérez, Vela listed three consequences that would affect emblematic cases. “Prosecutor Pérez can no longer participate in the reformulation of the fiscal accusation against Keiko Fujimori; he can no longer participate in the allegations of the Metro de Lima case, where members of the APRA are involved; he will not be able to participate in the trial of Susana Villarán. There is a direct affectation to his office because he operated just at this juncture,” he said.
Within that framework, he communicated what is “the tactic of Fernández Jerí and the ANC” to get rid of prosecutors that are uncomfortable.
