Rafael Muente Schwarzformer president of Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunicationss (Osiptel), reported having been the victim of threats after receiving a manila envelope with three bullet projectiles at his home. The incident occurred on Tuesday, when a motorist left the envelope in the hands of the janitor of the building in which he resides.

When he opened the envelope, he found a bond sheet with a printed message that said: “We have you in our sights. We know all your steps. Stop fooling around and put down the Osiptel bottle. You are in our sights.”

“When I returned I found that envelope, with the threat note and three bullets inside (…) I have never received any threat. According to the concierge, it was a motorized vehicle with only one person on board,” Muente said.
After confirming what happened, the former official went to file the corresponding complaint at the Chacarilla police station. Likewise, the process for granting personal guarantees before the Prefecture began, a request that was attended to two days later through a resolution granting said protection.
The envelope did not include any signature or elements that would identify those responsible. The authorities have been investigating the origin of the shipment and the identity of the person who left the envelope in the building, as well as whether the incident is linked to his professional performance or any recent activity.
