With 95.167% of minutes processed according to the web portal of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), Rafael López Aliaga will be the candidate of the Popular Renewal party for the 2026 General Elections, after the internal elections are held this Sunday.
With a total of 35,725 eligible voters, only 27,085% participated in the party’s internal elections to vote for the only list that was presented, headed by the former mayor of Lima.
In these internal elections, the list for candidates for the Andean Parliament, deputies and senators was also chosen.
López Aliaga heads the only list, where he is accompanied by Norma Yarrow (first vice presidency) and Jhon Iván Ramos Malpica (second vice presidency).
It is worth remembering that this Sunday the primary elections of 39 political parties in the country were held in the affiliate and delegate modality, as part of the first phase of the 2026 General Elections.
37 political parties are going to vote to elect the delegates who will later next Sunday, December 7, choose who will be the candidates representing their political parties and electoral alliances.
