In the midst of this controversy, the mayor of Lima, Rafael Lopez Aliagamade statements that have generated great controversy when defending his friend on the Latina program ‘Sin mediantes’.
“They have blamed him. He is a person who has come from very low, I do not judge his life because they have called him a pimp, brother. But pimps, in Peru… Please, eh, let them cast the first stone here. Of course then “declared the popular “Porky”, referring to Hurtado’s past.

In defense of his position, López Aliaga argued: “No, judging a human being is very complicated. In his life, especially at that level of intimacy, knowing where Andrés Hurtado comes from”.
