The businessman and nutrition consultant, Rafael Carles referred this Friday to the draft law presented by the alternate deputy Yaidelis González Fuentes, which seeks to implement the nutritional warning frontal labeling for processed products prepackaged for human consumption.
He expressed that said draft 317 will not be the solution to solve the problem of the high predisposition to chronic diseases in the country.
In addition, it exposed Law 114 approved on November 18, which creates the Plan of Action to improve health and dictates other provisions to establish the tax selective to the consumption of drinks sugary flakes and the criteria for their use.
“I propose that this draft (317) be eliminated. In Panama there is already law 114 that was made in the previous government. Why another law if there are too many laws in Panama? ”, He explained.
He commented that this law 114 was the product of the consensus of industries in which the bottlers agreed to a 10% tax that already existed, but agreed that the money would be used for the Oncologist, the Minsa.
