Racing Club equalized this Sunday without goals against Belgrano de Córdoba at the Presidente Perón stadium, in a match valid for the first day of the Professional Soccer League.
The last two-time Argentine soccer champion (of the Champions Trophy and International Super Cup, both against Boca Juniors) began the match without being able to take possession of the ball.
Belgrano, recently promoted, became strong in midfield and in the defensive zone to try to take care of his own goal.
The game was about to be played behind closed doors, by decision of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security, due to the growing internship in the racinguista barra brava. However, the management of the authorities of the Avellaneda entity with their peers in the Province modified the initial position and the comparison was attended by Racing partners.
It was difficult for the “Academy” to take possession of the ball and impose its presence at home in the first minutes, so it was only after 18 minutes that it got its first clear attacking play with a shot from Gonzalo Piovi that passed near the goal.
The creative midfielder Matias Rojas and Maximiliano Moralez, one of the club’s reinforcements, could not have the ball and generate football from midfield forward.
However, as the minutes passed, “Frasquito” Moralez grew in confidence and began to handle the ball and Racing’s strings in offense, so the locals could have more of the ball and grow in the game.
In the second half, the local tried to have the ball, handled it for a large part of the game and was able to reach the rival goal. But the visiting goalkeeper, Nahuel Losada, had a good afternoon to keep his goal clean.
The team led by coach Fernando Gago continued to search with more impetus than ideas, despite having more of the ball. However, Avellaneda’s team did not know how to open the scoring due to the strong defense of the “celestial” team.
The final result was the clearest reflection of what happened in the 90 minutes in which the two teams could not be effective in the rival goal.
On the second day, Racing will visit Argentinos Juniors, while Belgrano will host River Plate.
