Cancún, QRoo.- On the second day of official activities in the Spain International Tourism Fair (Fitur), the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, announced the signing of agreements with important European agencies such as Soltour and El Corte Inglés.
“We are doing for this 2025 with the English Courtone of the most important agencies that have been allies of us for many years, so we have great positive surprises for them to continue growing, and a lot of work together; Thank you for allowing us to talk about the Mayan Train and our 12 destinations and what we are going to do this year, thank you very much,” said the governor from Madrid in a message through her social networks.
In addition, Lezama Espinosa announced that Cancún will host the Challenger 125 Tennis Tournament for women at the Cancún Country Club, and subsequently met with the Mexican ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, and the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, in together with the governors and tourism secretaries of the 22 states that attend Fitur, “to strengthen the projection and diversification of Mexican destinations.”
The previous day, the permanent flight between Monterrey-Cozumel by Viva-Aerobús was announced, in addition to the fact that this same airline will increase the air connection between Cancún and the United States, with four new routes to different destinations.
On the previous day, the governor of Quintana Roo announced the opening and construction of five new hotels in the Mexican Caribbean in 2025, which will add 2,500 new rooms to strengthen the tourism infrastructure and the generation of thousands of new direct and indirect jobs.
The hotels that will be built are from Grupo Excellence, which will invest in a hotel development in Puerto Morelos; a Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres, an H10 hotel, a Riu Ventura Hotel and a Meliá Group hotel in Cancún will also be built.
