Quilmes will meet Boca and Talleres will play with the winner of the tie between Independiente and Vélez
Quilmes Y Cordoba Workshops won their passport to the quarterfinals of the Argentine Cupafter respectively eliminating Sports Madryn (1-1 and 4-1 on penalties) Y Newell’s Old Boys from Rosario (2-1).
In the first round of football this Wednesday, Quilmes won the penalty shootout 4-1 after drawing 1-1 in regular time with Deportivo Madryn, after goals from Axel Batista for the winner and Christian Leandro Gonzalez for the Patagonian team, in a match played at the Juan Carmelo Zerillo stadium in La Plata. In this way, the Brewer will be measured in the next instance with Boca Juniors, who has just eliminated Agropecuario 1-0.
For its part, in the second round, Talleres de Córdoba defeated Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 in a match played to a full stadium at the Juan Gilberto Funes in the city of San Luis. The Rosario team went ahead with a goal from John Manuel Garciabut the cast from Córdoba -directed by Javier Gandolfi after the departure of the Portuguese Pedro Caixinha- reversed the result with goals from Willer Ditta -at his own door- and the juvenile John Cruz Giacone.
