Basilio “Bachi” Núñez, deputy for the ANR and leader of the “Honor Colorado” caucus, has already announced to the media that there are no “new indications” to promote a political trial against Sandra Quiñónez, State Attorney General.
With this, a block of 25 Cartist Colorado deputies would vote against the possibility of a premature dismissal of Quiñónez. The striking thing is that several of them have a history with justice.
Esther Roa, a social activist, affirms that there is a collusion between Chartists and Llanistas to keep the questioned Attorney General. Therefore, before each trial attempt, they allege the same argument that everything has a “political background.”
“Citizens suffer the consequences of corruption, impunity and the weakening of democracy,” he said.
The activist calls for a demonstration for this Tuesday, January 22 at 6:00 p.m. on the Costanera de Asunción (from Gral. Santos y Artigas). Precisely to force the dismissal of Quiñónez, following the successful experience of mobilizations that achieved the departures of Óscar González Daher, Jorge Oviedo Matto, José María Ibáñez and other political figures.
Sandra Quiñónez has been the Attorney General since March 2018, she will be in office for five years (until March 2023). She has just over a year left on her term.
