The Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development of the Ministry of Economy and the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) reported this Sunday that a dairy company from Tandil managed to export to the United States a ton of products and plans to make a second shipment of 1,200 kilos in February, with the assistance of both organizations.
In a statement, the Secretary of Industry and Productive Development, Jose Ignacio de Mendigurenaffirmed that “the world is immersed in a strong struggle for the markets and for where value is added; and the central countries are increasingly jealous of their quality standards. It is key that the State puts at the service of private companies that want All the scientific and technical heritage of our industry can enter these markets to overcome the tests that are imposed on them. It is essential that from the State we can accompany the industry to continue taking Argentine work to the world and thus move towards the structural change of our country”.
For his part, the president of INTI, Sandra Mayol, maintained that the agency has facilities, equipment and technical capabilities in all the country’s provinces, which allow boosting productivity, job creation and, in cases like this, the increase in exports”, while reinforcing the commitment that the Institute provides SMEs with a key service for the productive development of the country”.
To enter the North American market, the dairy company Quesos Don Atilio had the technical assistance of INTI for the implementation of food safety plans, according to the United States Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which establishes the obligation to carry out a series of preventive controls within the agri-food industry.
INTI has 20 professionals specialized in PCQI (Person qualified in preventive controls) who advise and train companies from all over the country to facilitate adaptation to what international markets demand. Currently, Don Atilio has his own PCQI after the training given by the agency to the company’s quality manager, which favored coordination between the company and the agency to implement the safety plan.
In this sense, the technical adviser of the Department of Food of the Pampean Region of INTI, Mariana Cinalli pointed out that “the objective of INTI is to promote, disseminate and train human capital in topics that safeguard the integrity of food production and respond to requirements legal, nutritional, sensorial, quality and added value”.
The implementation of this type of procedure allows INTI to respond to the needs of companies that do not yet have specialized professionals in the field. The objective is to help food-producing SMEs to comply with the regulations established by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The company managed to export a ton of grilled provoleta in cylinders of 3.5 kilograms per unit and seasoned provoleta in portions of 300 grams each and plans to carry out in February a second shipment of 1,200 kilos of reggianito cheese, grill provoleta and provoleta seasoned in portions and they do not rule out continuing in the near future with the export process for their other 14 selected products.
