Qualifiers: Bolivia will play at home in El Alto against Venezuela

Confirmed! The Bolivian national soccer team will play at home in the impressive Municipal Stadium of Villa Ingenio, located in the city of El Alto, in its match against Venezuela, corresponding to the seventh date of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played on September 5 at 4:00 p.m.

The news was made official on Friday, after the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) published the match schedule on its social media. “The South American Qualifiers are back! Confirmed fixtures for matchdays 7 and 8,” reads the entity’s post.

After hearing the news, Eva Copa, mayor of El Alto, confirmed that 5 million bolivianos will be invested to carry out the necessary renovations in the stadium, in order to comply with the requirements demanded by Conmebol. Some of the improvements to be made include: the expansion of the boxes, the placement of seats in the stands, the coverage of the electrical system and, above all, guaranteeing an excellent state of the playing field.

Copa said that together with Fernando Costa, president of the Bolivian Football Federation, they will work together to accelerate the remodeling and adaptation work of the stadium, with the aim of providing the best conditions for the development of the match between Bolivia and Venezuela.

Opened on July 16, 2017, this imposing sports venue is located 4,083 meters above sea level, making it the highest stadium in Bolivia.

With a capacity for 25,000 spectators, the stadium has natural grass, dimensions of 110 x 68 meters and a modern lighting system. Its construction, which began in 2013, cost approximately 8 million dollars, making it one of the most important sports infrastructure projects in the city.

The Villa Ingenio Municipal Stadium, home of the Always Ready Club, has hosted numerous highly significant sporting events, including matches in the Professional Division of Bolivian football, as well as the prestigious Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
