The Qatari delegation who was visiting the Dominican Republic for four days, left this Friday night; and at that time, the Government presented him with a tray with the investment projects that are going tofrom tourism, airline and agricultural products.
The twelve-person team, coordinated by Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, was fired by Vice President Rachel Pena and the chancellor Roberto Alvarez, during an event held at the National Palace.
Among the variety of projects that the ministers showed to the Qatari guests is the plan for Pedernales, a province in which the Government has an ambitious tourism project of more than $1 billion. Part of the group traveled to Pedernales on Thursday to see the master plan of the work and the landscape.
In addition, the possibility was opened for the Dominican Republic to supply agricultural products, according to Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, last Thursday. Also, the Civil Aviation authorities showed an executive of Qatar Airways so that this country becomes an air hub for Qatar in the Americas.
The government’s approach to attract investment from Qatar began in November 2021, when the vice president traveled to that country and met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with whom he discussed the issue of reciprocity between the two peoples.
While it is true that Qatar is one of the smallest countries in the world (11,490 square kilometers), its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita is one of the best in the world, above $50,000 per person per year, which makes it one of the nations with the best living conditions.
In November, it will host the Soccer World Cup 2022.
