The Kremlin’s press service announced that the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, will pay a state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on June 18 and 19, after receiving an invitation from Kim Jong-un.

The announcement indicates that Putin will also visit Vietnam to discuss the strategic partnership and international agenda with the country’s senior leaders.

“At the invitation of the Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will pay a friendly state visit to the republic from June 18 to 19,” the statement said.

Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov indicated that during this visit Russia and North Korea could sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement.
