The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stated that, in the telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart this Thursday; Vladimir Putin told him that his government and his people “invariably support Venezuela.”
Likewise, Maduro confirmed that this contact with Putin was confirmation of a foolproof friendship “today, tomorrow and always.”
“Today I received a call in Russian. I had a long conversation with our older brother, friend and brave, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, he told me, among many things: ‘I want to express my admiration for the example of the bravery of the people of Venezuela in the face of the circumstances in which they have had to live,'” said Maduro.

The president referred to the recent signing of “19 new cooperation projects in science, technology, health, agriculture, industry and energy.”
Likewise, he reported that Putin and he “ratified” the holding in 2026 of the XX meeting of the Russia-Venezuela Commission in the Venezuelan capital, “to celebrate” the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the format.
Putin reaffirms support for Maduro
The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation this Thursday with the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduroreaffirming its support and expressing its solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of “growing external pressure.”
“Vladímir Putin expressed his solidarity with the Venezuelan people and reaffirmed his support for the Maduro Government’s policy aimed at protecting national interests and sovereignty in the face of growing external pressure,” said a press release published by the Kremlin.
It was highlighted that President Putin ratified his support for his counterpart in his efforts to consolidate peace, political stability, economic development and the social protection of the people. Furthermore, he emphasized that Venezuelans deserve absolute respect for their legitimate struggle to defend their sovereignty and independence.
Before the representatives of the Amalivaca Socialist Commune and of the 40 international delegates, Maduro thanked the international support that Venezuela has received.
