An interpellation motion against the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo, for the purchase of 24 war planes for US$3,500, was presented this afternoon by the Together for Peru bench, as revealed by Perú21 last Friday.
The interpellation motion has 41 questions, and they revolve around the acquisition not only of the fighter planes valued at US$3.5 billion but also the purchase of 12,000 rifles from Israel and two Boeing 737 transport planes, one of which would replace the presidential plane. , with a cost that is around 295 million soles.

However, the Minister of Defense has ruled out that some of these planes are for the presidential use of the head of state, Dina Boluarte.

The insufficient surveillance on the borders with Ecuador and the limited capacity to respond to forest fires are other issues that Astudillo will have to respond to.
The 10,000 rifles to Israel, as part of the strategy to equip the Armed Forces, is another question that the motion includes.
The spokesperson for Together for Peru – Voices of the People (JPP – VdP), Roberto Sánchez, assured that he hopes to have 44 signatures in the plenary session for the motion to be admitted.
The motion has 22 signatures of congressmen from the JPP-VdP, Socialist Bank and Popular Action benches.
SECOND MOTION
On the other hand, the spokesperson for Renovación Popular (RP), Norma Yarrow, in an interview with Peru21did not rule out presenting a second motion of interpellation to the Minister of Defense for the purchase of the 24 war planes.
Last Tuesday, this medium revealed that RP, at the initiative of Congressman Esdras Medina, is evaluating preparing a second motion against Astudillo.
