Morel ruled out irregularities and defended its works director
At a press conference, the departmental mayor said that there were no anomalies in the performance of Nicolás Gramajo and questioned the versions that circulated on social networks and some media.
The communal chief recalled that Gramajo was not part of the municipality of Plácido Rosas, but that he served as a hired official of the municipality of Rio Branco, an organ with its own autonomy that has the power to directly hire his staff. For that reason, he indicated that the prohibition established in article 41 of Law No. 9515 – which prevents municipal employees from contracting with the municipality without authorization from the Departmental Board – is not applicable in this case.
“Gramajo never participated in the purchase process or in the execution of the acquisitions made by the municipality of Plácido Rosas. He is not an official of that jurisdiction and, therefore, he cannot attribute any incompatibility,” Morel detailed. He also pointed out that, in his individual, he did maintain sales of products both to the municipality of Plácido Rosas and the intention itself, which does not represent any irregularity.
The mayor of Cerro Largo, Christian Morel, summoned a press conference with the aim of clarifying the position that the mayor of the Frente Amplio maintains about “Eventual” Irregularities in the performance of the current director of works of the Intendencia, Nicolás Gramajo, following purchases made by the municipality of Plácido Rosas in the past period, to his private company that revolves in the construction of the construction.
During his exhibition, Morel was categorical: “There is no type of anomaly or error in the performance of director Gramajo. His procedure has been absolutely transparent.”
Legal Report
As he explained, in the first 48 hours of receiving the complaint at the Departmental Board, a preliminary report was requested that concluded that the situation does not frame in any violation of current regulations.
Discharges
The Mayor took advantage of the instance to criticize publications on social networks and some press holders who, in his opinion, “They built a story that does not fit reality.” “I already suffered it in the electoral campaign: headlines that are not true and generate political violence. We summon the press to give first -hand information, so that no doubt about issues that are already clarified by the official reports themselves are not installed,” express.
Morel emphasized that the Intendance will formally respond to the Departmental Board with the corresponding documentation, but wanted to anticipate what he described as “Infused rumors” that affect both the management and the image of the officials. “There are no crimes, no mistakes, or irregularities. There is a legal report that supports it, and there is an intention that is handled with transparency,” assured.
With this statement, the communal chief sought to close the controversy around the figure of Nicolás Gramajo, reaffirming his confidence in the director of works and transmitting a message of tranquility to citizenship about the management of municipal purchases.
