Punta Catalina unit goes out of service

Unit number 2 of the thermoelectric Catalina Point He left the service this Monday afternoon, because he suffered an internal shot, which was described as normal by plant personnel.

The information was confirmed by George Reinoso, member of the Technical Committee of the Thermoelectric Power Plant Trust Catalina Point (CTPC).

The departure of the plant is temporary and it is expected to come into service in one hour, according to the official’s statements.

This unit contributes to the interconnected electrical system some 300 megabytes.

At the time of confirming the information, Reinoso said that the unit had been out of service for about two hours.

Catalina Point It is located in the Peravia province and contributes more than 700 megawatts to the country’s energy system.
