He Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) closed the year 2025 with the mobilization of more than 11 million passengersconsolidating itself as the main air gateway to the Dominican Republic and one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean.
Throughout the year, the air operations totalized 35,092 flightswhich represented a growth of 15.6% compared to 2024.
During the month of Decemberthe PUJ recorded an interannual increase of 11.5% in the number of passengersgoing from 975,450 in December from 2024 to 1,087,621 in December of 2025.
This performance coincided with a sustained increase in air activity in peak seasonperiod in which the airport reached three weekly records consecutive flights, with 812, 896 and 900 operationsrespectively.
This behavior was linked, among other factors, to the opening of new routes towards markets like France, Mexico, United StatesColombia and the Eastern Caribbean, as well as the expansion of international airlines that continue to bet on Punta Cana as regional tourist hub.
International recognitions
The growth of the flow of passengers and operations was accompanied by international recognition, such as the Level 3 accreditation in Customer Experience Airports Council International (ACI), the 4 stars awarded by Skytrax, the recognition of the VIP Lounge by Priority Pass and the recertification in the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Added to this were advances in infrastructure, including the expansion of the city’s parking. Terminal B and the putting into operation of the Punta Cana Free Trade Zone (PCFTZ).
With these results, the Punta Cana Airport reinforced its position as one of the main connectivity nodes aerial of Caribbean and Latin America and reflect the positive impact of a strengthened tourism ecosystem for new hotel openings, strategic alliances and a vision aimed at offering a safe, efficient and memorable travel experience.
