A group of residents caught and punished two alleged criminals accused of stealing a purse with cash from a married couple, which occurred in the vicinity of the Cahuide and 8 de Noviembre neighborhoods in the city of Juliaca.
The personnel of the Juliaca police station, after being alerted about the incident, went to the aforementioned place, finding dozens of people who were keeping two subjects accused of robbery tied to the post.
The agents identified the accused as: Joseph Condori (24) and Juan Espinoza (43), who would be members of the alleged criminal gang called “Los Cusqueños del Celular”, who minutes before had stolen a wallet containing inside a wallet with the sum of 600 soles belonging to a 32-year-old citizen.
The two suspects were arrested by local residents and passersby, being beaten and stripped of their clothing in an attempted lynching to make them return the stolen property.
The police, after a dialogue with the neighbors, managed to rescue Joseph Condori and Juan Espinoza, thus preventing them from being victims of justice by their own hands. The detainees were transferred to the Crimes and Misdemeanors Section as detainees for the crime against property in the form of aggravated theft, although it was not possible to recover the objects stolen from the victim.
It is known that two other subjects had fled the scene, taking the wallet with bills. The police, by order of the prosecutor on duty Manuel Guarnizo Alfaro, carry out the proceedings.
