Puno: Preliminary arrest of four INPE agents investigated for torture

The Judiciary issued seven days of preliminary detention against INPE security agents Cristian Vásquez, John Aruhuanca, Jaime Cajchaya and Renzo Ccapacca, for the alleged crime of torture against an inmate of the Puno Penitentiary Establishment.

The measure was achieved by the Second Supraprovincial Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Human Rights and Against Terrorism of Puno, in charge of the provincial prosecutor Víctor Castillo Revilla.

According to the tax investigation, the April 21, 2025those investigated would have hit the victim repeatedly with his regulation stickwhen he entered the prison. After the alleged physical abuse, the victim was returned to his cell.
