Puno: Police dismantle alleged criminal gang dedicated to robbery in stores and homes

The police personnel of the Puno Criminal Investigation Area arrested 7 people, including 4 men and 3 women, members of an alleged criminal gang dedicated to theft in homes, commercial establishments and vehicles.

The intervention occurred in a property located in the Chanu Chanu neighborhood of the city of Puno, where the alleged thieves were arrested, in addition to cell phones, three vehicles, a large number of tools used to open the doors of homes, commercial establishments and vehicles. .

The detainees would be members of the alleged gang “Los Injertos de Chanu Chanu”, who were identified as: Rolando CA, Leopoldo AC, José SA, Wilson AP, Fiorela TR, Mariela CC and Miriam VP

According to preliminary information, 5 of those arrested have a history of crimes against property, including 2 of them who were already in prison. The police chief said that the women who were arrested were apparently selling the stolen belongings.

The police reported that this criminal gang is involved in the theft of 45 new cell phones from a commercial establishment in the city of Juliaca, whose equipment was recovered in this operation.

The detainees and the seized objects were transferred to the National Police facilities in order to continue the investigations and determine the responsibility of each of them.
