Puno: One dead and more than 10 injured after accident on the Juliaca-Cusco road

A new traffic accident occurred on the Juliaca-Cusco highway, near the district of Santa Rosa, province of Melgar. One person died and more than 10 passengers were seriously injured.

Police reported that the car with license plate X4O-428 and the vehicle with license plate AZR-710 were involved in the accident. The injured were transported in private vehicles to health facilities in Sicuani (Cusco) and to the San Juan de Dios hospital in Ayaviri.

Authorities said that after the violent crash, the driver of one of the vehicles, named Eloy Navarro Gamarra (67), died. The police and the prosecutor on duty removed the body and began the proceedings to determine the cause of this fatal traffic accident.

The injured transferred to the Sicuani hospital are: Yuly Navarro Caceres (40), Jesus Alejandro MN (02), Urpi Valeria MN (7 months), Gabriela Dalia Navarro Caceres (28), Irene Caceres de Betancourt (63) and Fiorela Navarro Caceres (33).

The injured taken to the Ayaviri hospital are: Héctor Bonifacio Tintaya Quispe (39), Gabriela Díaz Condori (66), Jimena Tintaya Puma (15), Elena Puma Barrios (34) and Yordy Julinio Tintaya Puma (11).
