Puno: Ilave International Bridge blocked in protest against the Government
Puno: Police seize more than 600 cell phones in Juliaca’s “cachina”
Leaders of grassroots organizations in the Puno region announced that the first delegations have already left for Lima to protest on the 27th, 28th and 29th against the Government of Dina Boluarte and the Congress of the Republic.

The leader of Sutep in the Puno region, Alexander Pilco, said that an average of 80 teachers will travel to Lima. The first group left this Thursday, he said. “The first group has already left for the capital, others will do so this Friday,” he added.
The representative of the southern region, Edgar Chura, said that the inhabitants of the Aymara region are also travelling to Lima to join the national protest. He said that delegations from the provinces of El Collao, Yunguyo and others are joining the national mobilisation.
Milagros Samillán, sister of doctor Marco Antonio Samillán who died during the protests in Juliaca on January 9, announced that relatives of the victims will travel to Lima to demand justice and reject the celebrations for Fiestas Patrias.
BLOCKS AND MARCHES
This Thursday, dozens of passenger and cargo vehicles were stranded on the Ilave International Bridge, in the province of El Collao. Groups of protesters blocked the bridge early in the morning, as part of the day of protest against the Government and the Congress of the Republic.
Another group of residents blocked a section of the Interoceanic Highway, near the province of Azángaro. The protests are in rejection of the government of Dina Boluarte, closure of Congress, justice for the victims of January 9, among other demands.
The leaders announced that this Friday they would hold rallies in Puno and Juliaca, and then march through the streets of both cities. Those from the North gathered in Juliaca and those from the South in Puno.
