Police personnel from the Criminal Investigation Area of Puno and Juliaca arrested four members of an alleged criminal gang that was dedicated to receiving stolen vehicles and then extorting their victims.
The police first arrested Cirilo Mamani Tacora (53), then the preliminary proceedings were carried out, managing to identify and arrest the other members of the alleged criminal gang identified as: Edgar Rodolfo Hallasi Mamani (48), Wilder Rusell Pari Curo (37) and Richard Alata Oviedo (42).
Later, they managed to locate the vehicle with license plate X3U-562 with which they extorted their last victim, whose unit was in a workshop in the Tasa urbanization of the city of Juliaca. They said that the car was stolen on March 25, 2024 from a property in the San Jorge urbanization.
The subjects contacted the owner of the vehicle and asked for 12 thousand soles in exchange for returning their car.
The detainees were transferred to the specialized unit in order to continue with the legal proceedings. The prosecutor on duty for the province of San Román, Bryan Antony Monje Yucra, is in charge of the investigations to determine the responsibility of each of them.
