A new crime occurred on the Interoceanic Highway, in the jurisdiction of the district of San Gabán, province of Carabaya (Puno), where three hooded criminals armed with firearms subdued the occupants of a van and took 20 thousand soles and other objects.
The injured Bill Nilton BQ (27) and Emilio QC (40) went to the Mazuko police station, in Puerto Maldonado, reporting that they were the objects of armed robbery, on the aforementioned road, at the height of the Loromayo population center, in the district of San Gabán. The victims were traveling in the truck with license plate AWV-821.
They narrated that The robbers threatened them with firearms and forced them to hand over a kangaroo containing 20 thousand soles. They said that hours earlier they had withdrawn the sum of 15 thousand from a financial institution and another 5 thousand that they had with them from Mazuko.
The Police said they carried out operations on the highway, without positive resultso. In addition, they informed the prosecutor on duty, who ordered the investigations to be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Area of Azángaro, since the crime occurred in the jurisdiction of the Puno region.
On the Interoceanic Highway, armed robberies constantly occur, For this reason, transporters and travellers are asking the police to intensify operations to prevent new robberies.
