Oriente Petrolero is left without one of its main leaders. Gustavo Gutiérrez, general secretary and so far the visible face of the club, confirmed to ten his resignation to office, ensuring that his decision is “irreversible.” The news shakes the Albiverde institution, which crosses a period marked by instability.
The leader explained that within the leadership herself put “many obstacles”, which led him to step aside. Gutiérrez had assumed a leading role in recent months, leading the institutional and sports efforts of the club.
At the time, he even aimed to be president, but he could never take office because he did not receive the endorsement of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF). Even so, his presence in the club was key to sustaining the day to day in the midst of financial and administrative problems.
Since May of this year, their work was focused on paying part of the debts with the squad and unlocking demands against FIFA that prevented the club from registering players. His management was recognized as a determinant for the East to maintain some sports stability in the tournament.
A source of the leadership indicated to ten that in the next few days an internal audit will be presented and assembly will be convened to define the steps to follow. Meanwhile, East Petrolero faces a new scenario of uncertainty, waiting to rearrange its leadership structure.
