The Citizen Pulse Survey revealed that 64% of the population “agrees or strongly agrees” with the constitutional accusation against the President Sebastian Piñera. The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved the accusatory libel against the President on Tuesday, and the Senate must ratify or reject the decision of the Lower House.
According to slogan T13, 18.9% agreed to the option “neither agree or disagree”, while 17.1% said they “strongly disagree or disagree”.
Likewise, the data provided by the survey express a slight decrease in the preference “agree or strongly agree” compared to last month, when it reached 67%.
The survey included online interviews with 1,602 people.
Let us remember that the constitutional accusation was made for the revelations of the “Pandora Papers”, an investigation carried out by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ, for its acronym in English).
In the Chilean chapter, Ciper and The Bot announced the millionaire sale of the Dominga mining project in the British Virgin Islands (considered a tax haven), by the family of President Piñera and his friend Carlos Alberto Délano, convicted of the Penta case. The operation was carried out in the first government of the President.
The Senate will process the constitutional accusation on Tuesday, November 16. In the instance, the Upper House must summon the defense of the President and three deputies (Gael yeomans [CS], Leonardo Soto [PS] and Gabriel Silber [DC]), who will defend the accusatory libel.
For the Senate to pass the impeachment, a 2/3 quorum is required.
