Puerto Rico affirmed its readiness to work with the United States “to counter this and other threats posed by the illegitimate Maduro dictatorship and support the people of Venezuela in their search for freedom.”
The governor of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González, who took office a week ago, stated that she will not take Nicolás Maduro’s threat of invasion “lightly.”
Through a statement, the governor said that Maduro’s words are “an open threat to the United States, our national security and stability in the region.”
In the same way, he indicated that he trusts that this country will respond quickly and make it clear that they will protect the lives and sovereignty of Americans and that “they will not bow to the threats of petty and murderous dictators.”

In the opinion of the governor of Puerto Rico, “Maduro’s calls for an invasion are a clear attempt to get rid of the presence of the United States and increase its influence in the area,” she explained in the communication and stated that she is ready “to work with you (U.S. ) and his administration to counter this and other threats posed by Maduro’s illegitimate dictatorship and support the people of Venezuela in their quest for freedom.
Last Sunday, January 12, Nicolás Maduro said that he plans to invade Puerto Rico along with troops from Brazil, this in response to a “colonization” agenda supported by other countries.
Puerto Rico has been under the command of the United States for more than 100 years.
