Puebla, Pue. He Investment Promotion Committee in Pueblamade up of 32 women, will aim to consolidate the landing of national and foreign projects in the short and medium term to strengthen the economy in key productive sectors.
Beatriz Camacho Ruiz, president of the committee and of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), indicated that an investment goal is not considered as such, but there are possible projects that the state government has in its intentions. In addition, the federal Ministry of Economy also receives proposals that it channels to Puebla.
He indicated that “tailoring suits” for investors is an option to guarantee that they are met in terms of tax incentives, but details must be known about how their projects will trigger.
However, he recognized the willingness of the federal government to integrate the promotion committees in the states, where the Private Initiative participates to attract projects, because it knows the areas of opportunity.
He indicated that they will be facilitators of procedures, because it is one of the issues that slows down or postpones the development of a project when investors are unaware of “that paperwork.”
He mentioned that if a private project is planned for two or three years, it would be better for it to be expedited and done in a year and a half to strengthen economic development and generate jobs.
- There are hectares to achieve investments
Camacho Ruiz affirmed that the conditions exist to carry out projects from 2036, since there are hectares for industries.
One of the sectors that will be promoted the most is energy given the need of established industries and those that will arrive in the future to lower costs in the supply of light.
The Coparmex leader said that having the doors of the federal and state Secretariats of Economy open will allow the committee to work decisively to attract investments.
And it is that only in the Puebla Economic Development Polethere are investment commitments for 2,100 million pesos, which is a basis for the committee made up of businessmen to commit to achieving this during the six-year period and from 2026 onwards.
Although, the automotive sector is where the most projects could be landed, since it is the main contributor to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Puebla with 37.3%.
In addition, there are 349 economic units in the sector, being third in vehicle exports and first in investment in auto parts.
