SANTO DOMINGO.- Brigades from the Ministry of Public Works worked this Thursday on patching the streets from the Centro de los Héroes to the El Cacique area, National District.
The brigades covered the holes that the rains of Tropical Storm Melissa had left in their wake. The machines, the smell of asphalt and the reflective vests returned to the everyday landscape.
As explained by technicians on site, the rains of recent weeks had prevented the paving of the streets from continuing, since water affects the adhesion of the material. Now, with the weather more stable, Public Works has resumed the patching program to recover the damaged roads.
It is not an isolated intervention: the work extends to different parts of Greater Santo Domingo, where little by little the recovery of the pavement after the storm is noticeable.
