Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that it left new road solutions in operation on the Duarte Highway, as part of the preventive measures to improve vehicle flow and reduce traffic accidents during the Christmas period.
Among the works put into service is a new operational return at kilometer 110close to the community of The Pineas well as the expansion of the reconstructed bridge over the Verde River to six lanesboth located in the province La Vega.
The institution also announced that In the next few days the return located at kilometer 25 will come into operation of the Duarte Highway, at the point where the toll previously operated.

According to the MOPC, these interventions are part of the expansion and modernization work on the Duarte Highwaywith the aim of strengthening road safety and streamlining the circulation of vehicles in one of the main corridors of the country.
The authorities indicated that the improvements seek to facilitate the movement of drivers and passengers, especially during the increase in traffic that is recorded during the end-of-year festivities.
