SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) informs that from tonight until 6:00 in the morning of Friday the 21st, the assembly of the central beams of the new pedestrian and motorized bridge that will be erected at the Pajarito Crossing, on the Duarte highway, a section corresponding to the Villa Altagracia municipality, will be carried out.
This nighttime intervention is part of the institutional commitment to accelerate priority works without affecting the dynamism of traffic during the day, while guaranteeing the safety of those who travel along one of the most important roads in the country.
Due to the magnitude of the work and the constant flow of vehicles on the Duarte highway, the intervened point will have extensive signage and road support to guide drivers, who must take a contraflow that will be duly indicated by the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT), this to guarantee the technical maneuvers of the heavy equipment in charge of assembly.
The execution of this operation is a joint action with the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (DIGESETT), the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT) and the Military and Police Commission (COMIPOL), in order to ensure an orderly, safe procedure and with the logistics required for the lifting of the metal structures.
The Ministry of Public Works asks road users for their collaboration and understanding, reiterating that these actions will allow progress in the comprehensive improvement of the road system, strengthen the safety of pedestrians and motorcyclists, and offer a more modern infrastructure to the communities of Villa Altagracia and surrounding areas.
