The government of Rio Grande do Norte adopted measures to resume public transport services in the capital, Natal, after a meeting between authorities and representatives of the state’s productive sector.
By determination of the Crisis Management Office (GGC), public passenger transport will have, this Friday (17) an emergency fleet of 20%, to be guaranteed by military police and the Municipal Guard of Natal.
The meeting – held on Thursday night (16) with the participation of representatives of the transport system and representatives of the industry, hotel, commerce and services sectors – was chaired by Governor Fátima Bezerra.
Through her Twitter account, she said that the National Force will make more police available today, and that the state will also have reinforcements of military police, vehicles and helicopters, coming from Ceará and Paraíba.
“This cooperation with the two states is fundamental for us to proceed with our strategic plan, in order to guarantee the ostensive presence of the police. We need more overt police to ensure that transport, even partially, can function, as well as commerce, industry, tourism and leisure”, tweeted the governor.

National Force
At yesterday’s meeting, the governor detailed some points reached with the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Fino, regarding the strengthening of the national security force in our state.
“Flávio Dino, once again sensitive, will increase the presence of the national security force in our state”, declared Fátima Bezerra.
In addition to the 100 agents from the National Force, already sent to the state, another 90 police officers and 30 federal criminal police officers should reinforce the team today.
The Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration of the RN announced a reinforcement of 90 police officers from the Penitentiary Cooperation Force, from the National Secretariat of Penal Policies.
According to SEAP, the Penitentiary System’s Integrated Operational Management Center currently monitors “more than 1,400 high-tech cameras” installed in the state’s prison units.
“Despite the acts of violence in several Potiguar cities, no occurrences were recorded in the state’s jails and penitentiaries”, informed SEAP which, since Tuesday (14), suspended social visits by family members and the assistance of lawyers in prisons. .
