The Public Ministry will charge a man who was arrested for destroying a large quantity of carrots by throwing them into a river, in Pueblo Llano in the state of Mérida, the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, reported this Sunday night.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, Saab said that the detained person was identified as Ysnet Antonio Rodríguez Mambel, who “destroyed a large amount of food (carrots)” in the Pueblo Llano municipality, in Mérida.
He added that with such action the subject “violated the Law of Fair Prices (boycott).”

He also reported that the Public Prosecutor’s Office will present Rodríguez Mambel to the competent Court this Monday.
Tomatoes to the river too
On the other hand, last Saturday the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry “will investigate and punish” a man who threw hundreds of tomatoes to a river, after denouncing that his means of transport did not have fuel to transport the product from Trujillo state to Caracas.
Saab said that the Public Ministry appointed the 23rd National Prosecutor for Economic Crimes, to “investigate and punish irregularities committed by a subject who destroys a large amount of food in Carache, Trujillo.”
For Saab, these actions generate anxiety for the people and threaten agri-food security.

Likewise, prosecutor Tarek William Saab denounced another man who decided to throw away a crop of bananas due to lack of fuel to transport it to the destination.
Given these actions, the Public Ministry appointed the 23rd National Prosecutor for Economic Crimes to investigate and punish these irregular acts.
