Saint Dominic.– The investigation into the alleged irregularities in the National Health Insurance (Senasa) took a new turn this Friday, after the Public Ministry requested that Heidi Pineda, Cinty Acosta and Eduardo Read Estrella continue the judicial process under house arrest.
During the hearing held at the Permanent Attention Office of the National District, the accusing body reported that it abandoned the request for preventive detention and proposed an alternative measureconsidering that there are no procedural risks that warrant the imprisonment of the accused at this stage.
Operation Cobra
The file, known as Operation Cobra, investigates alleged administrative and financial anomalies that would have affected the resources of the social security system, specifically those managed by Senasa.

As explained by the Public Ministry, the decision is based on a review of the elements collected so far, as well as on the personal conditions of the accusedwithout implying the closure or weakening of the investigation.
Criminal responsibilities
The prosecution body assured that the process remains active and that proceedings continue to be carried out to clarify the facts and determine possible criminal responsibilities.
The final decision on the variation of the coercive measure will remain in the hands of the Permanent Attention Officewhich must evaluate the arguments presented in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.
