The Public Ministry reported this Monday, December 23, of two new days of evaluation of judicial cases within the framework of “post-electoral violence.” At night, some 46 releases were agreed upon, in which the authorities increased to 956.
Earlier, the attorney general Tarek William Saab, He said that, in coordination with the Judiciary, another 177 reviews of measures for defendants have been agreed upon. The head of the Public Ministry pointed out that with this measure, at that time there were 910 releases carried out within the framework of “due process” guaranteed in the Constitution.
Likewise, the Public Ministry indicated that it will continue the process of exhaustive review of the cases “in defense of peace, justice and human rights.”
These releases have occurred simultaneously with new arrests in recent weeks, including those of activists and members of the organization Vente Venezuela. Hence, NGOs and relatives of political prisoners denounce that the revolving door effect is applied.
