The Public Ministry (MP) issued a statement on Wednesday, which reports the execution of a “implacable anti -corruption operation”, in order to strengthen the integrity of the justice system and end various “indecorous behaviors” in the ranks of the Venezuelan state.
Since the early hours of Sunday, September 7, the MP has carried out a transcendental operation that links several judges and prosecutors of the institution.
Through these operations, it adds to the imputation and judicialization in the last hours of 14 prosecutors of the Carabobo state, including the former superior of said entity.
According to the text, «this current and extraordinary operation reaffirms our commitment to transparency and legality, ensuring that all our officials act with maximum decorum and responsibility. The integrity of the justice system is essential for the full validity of Republican peace and it is our priority to protect and reinforce it every day through actions like these that feel a historic precedent in the western hemisphere ».
Through these arrests, a total of 570 public ministry officials have processed and prosecuted by the commission of crimes contrary to the law and the Constitution have been accounted.
Finally, the statement expresses: “As the titular agency of the criminal action and guarantor of legality in the country, this Public Ministry will continue to exercise without any public force on those subjects without honor that divert their way and intend to mitigate the good progress of the administration of justice, peace and human rights in Venezuela.”
