A week ago, the new National Prosecutor, Ángel Valencia, requested the resignation of 14 heads of the specialized units of the Public Ministry, including the former candidate in his charge, Marta Herrera. After the news, the persecutor refused to resign.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Public Ministry decided to vacate the position of head of the Anti-Corruption Unit that Herrera held in the prosecuting entity. This, despite the fact that she did not submit her resignation when Valencia requested it, since she had an administrative day.

Until last Wednesday, the only ones who did not resign were Herrera and the head of the Human Rights and Sexual Crimes Unit, Ymay Ortiz. However, the latter finally resigned and left Herrera alone, who seeks to review whether the measure is legal or not.
