Public Ministry confirms arrest of the mayor of Maracaibo Rafael Ramírez

Ministerio Público confirma detención del alcalde de Maracaibo Rafael Ramírez

After the arrest of the mayor of Maracaibo, Rafael Ramirez Colina and other collaborators, the Public Ministry (MP), spoke to the Venezuelan people through a statement, in which it was indicated that in the next few hours, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure (COPP), the presentation of the case before the court, in matters against corruption.

Those arrested will be charged with the serious irregular acts provided for in the catalog of criminal types of the Anti-Corruption Lawwhich are attributed to them based on the investigations carried out in coordination with the National Anti-Corruption Police.

The MP collected sufficient elements of conviction and reliable evidence that incriminates those investigated.

These actions are carried out as part of the fight to improve public administration undertaken by the institutions of the Venezuelan State, in defense of the interests of the nation.
