The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced that there will be penalty of jail and fines for those who threaten the life of an animal.
In a shared video through its social networks, Saab mentioned that the crimes includes deprivation of light, air, shadows, food, movements, coat and hygiene.
In that sense, he added that a penalty of two to five years in prison will be established, fines of 1,000 to 2,000 tax units (UT) will be placed. He also noted that if these crimes committed against animals are recorded, the additional prison sentence will be three to six years and fines of 600 to 1,000 UT.
Finally, he added that the Public Ministry He is working based on protecting animals and sanctioning those who comment on improper acts against them.
