One of the main problems that our country faces to improve its growth rate and thus its development is to increase spending on works, among other policies, that allow for increased productivity. Within these works There are, for example, transportation and education projects. Despite this, in Peru, the money for these purposes is not spent in its entirety.
According to the Consulta Amigable portal of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), as of today, the three levels of government together have only executed 69% of the budget allocated to public investment. That is, S/22,047 million was not spent.
The Central Government executed 79.1% of the budget assigned for public investment, but has pending expenditure of S/5,409 million, of which S/3,157 million, 58% is in the field of the Transportation and Education sector.
The transportation sector has S/1,678 million pending execution and Education S/1,480 million.
As for local governments, with an execution level of 56.9%, they have pending spending S/12,306 million. Meanwhile, the regional governments that have so far executed 73.2% have S/4,275 million pending.
