Public institutions launch mental health campaign

Campaña día mundial de la salud

This Monday, October 10, World Mental Health Day was commemorated. In this context, different entities of the Executive Power promote a campaign to raise awareness on this matter.

The Ministry of Public Health (MSP), the Ministry of Social Development (you measure) and the National Institute of Human Rights (Inddhh) published on their social networks the announcement of the launch of the campaign “Let’s make mental health a priority”.

In the shared message, the need to “move towards a model of community mental health care, prevention, inclusive and participatory, with well-being and autonomy as its horizon” was highlighted.

The campaign will be launched on October 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lost Steps Hall of the Legislative Palace. Its objective is to “disseminate and generate awareness for the effective change of paradigm and care model.”

The Minister of Health, Daniel Salinas, also published a message regarding mental health. The chief spread a tweet from the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization where Edinson Cavani talks about the subject and tells an episode of his personal life.

“Reflections on Mental Health Day by @ECavaniOfficial for @opsomsuruguay No one is strong enough not to need help and ask for it. Nor should anyone be considered weak for it. Family and friends as pillars,” Salinas wrote.
