SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Health reported four new cases of monkeypox, with which they add to date about 25 confirmed infections.
The latest diagnoses, according to the director of Epidemiology, Ronald Skewes, correspond to people residing in the National District, who are receiving treatment at their homes.
These are two males aged 34 and 52, as well as two females aged 26 and 39, with mild symptoms.
Meanwhile, the health authorities stated that there is no cause for alarm and that the situation continues to be handled under the established health protocol.
The symptoms of monkeypox are similar to that of the eradicated smallpox, but somewhat milder, such as fever, headache, tiredness and chills.
