SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Health reported 1,317 new cases of covid-19 this Sunday, which represents a significant increase in the disease in the country. No deaths were reported, so the number remains at 4,383.

In this way, the country registered more than a thousand cases of covid-19 for the fifth consecutive day. As of Saturday, it had reported 1,214 cases, representing an increase of 103 infections.

He indicated that between 9:00 a.m. on Friday and the same time on Saturday, 11,859 tests were processed that detected 590 infections in the National District, 307 in the Santo Domingo province, 75 in Santiago, 44 ​​in La Romana, 42 in San Cristóbal, 36 in Valverde, 32 in San Pedro de Macorís and 27 in the Duarte province.

In addition, 21 in Espaillat, 15 in La Altagracia, 14 in Peravia, 11 in Monseñor Nouel, nine in Puerto Plata and Hermanas Mirabal, respectively.

HOSPITAL OCCUPATION

In the Dominican Republic there are 2,373 beds available for Covid patients, 219 of which (9.2%) are occupied.

There are 585 beds in intensive care units, 35 occupied (6.0%). Of 469 ventilators available in the hospital network, 8 occupied (1.7%).
