He Ministry of Public Health reported this Monday that it is investigating the death of Pamela Almánzarthe young woman who died after a surgery aesthetics in Arroyo Hondo Medical and Diagnostic Center (CEDIAH), by surgeon Edgar Contreras.
The Vice Minister of Quality Assurance, José Matos, indicated that the lady died 12 days after the intervention. He noted that the entity in charge of ensuring the health of citizens must wait for the results of Forensic Pathology to determine the real reason for the death.
«In every procedure there can be complications (…). In this case we have to wait for the results of the autopsy, which they are preparing. (…) When we have the results of Forensic Pathology then we will summon Dr. Edgar Contreras»Matos said.
Several days ago, Almánzar’s family and friends asked for justice for the young woman’s death, and accused the surgical specialist of being responsible for the deaths of several women. “This is not the first one he has killed, there are several,” said one of the young woman’s friends.
Pamela’s father was forceful in his statements, ensuring that “there are many (people) who are buried” due to this doctor’s practices, and affirmed that “there is evidence of that.”
Likewise, he described Dr. Contreras as “an inexperienced butcher” and reflected on the need to withdraw his license to avoid more tragedies. “We must take away his power as a doctor,” he emphasized.
