Public Health closes water bottling plant in Santiago

The authorities highlight that the bad handling practice in the packaging plant was recurrent

The legal action was carried out by the pertinent authorities after having notified said bottler on repeated occasions, and verifying that its representatives ignored the call to abide by the correct health provisions.

The executing commission was headed by legal adviser Juan Esmérito Lora and Héctor Custodio, together with members of the National Police and environmental health officials from DASS II.

The permanent and definitive notification act states that the reasons for said closure are: Non-compliance with the Law and its regulation 528-01, Dominican standards 53 and good manufacturing practices.

In addition, for not having criteria in the packaging of 16-ounce bottles.

According to the residents of the Zone, they were made in an unhealthy way, with a plastic vase and not with a bottle filler and a closed filling cabin.

The authorities emphasize that the bad handling practice in the packaging plant was recurrent and for these reasons, it could not be allowed to continue operating.
