Public Health affirms that it did not launch an HIV campaign with a man dressed as a woman

Salud Pública afirma que no lanzó campaña del VIH con hombre vestido de mujer

The Ministry of Public Health clarified this Thursday night that, so far in 2025, it has not carried out or approved any “awareness” campaign about HIV/AIDS.

“We inform the general population that, during the current year 2025, the Ministry of Public Health has not carried out or approved any campaign related to HIV/AIDS, neither through social networks nor in traditional media,” the institution said in a press release.

This clarification is issued in response to criticism and confusion generated by a campaign that recently circulated on digital platforms, which was starring a trans woman.

Among the reactions, that of the Internet user stands out Yirenni Pérezwho questioned on his X account: «Why does the DR Ministry of Public Health use a man dressed as a woman and call him “miss” in an “awareness” campaign about HIV and AIDS? “Why use our tax money to push an ideology that the majority of Dominicans do not agree with?”

For her part, the citizen Anny Esther Burgos expressed: “It is excellent that an HIV awareness campaign is directed at people with sex dysphoriabut let them call things as they are, not necessarily introduce the queer ideology and even less if that is paid with money from the treasury. @vicatallah NOT LIKE THIS! ⁦
