The Immediate Justice Plan was installed in the state of Delta Amacuro this Wednesday, during a working visit to Tucupita carried out by the General Public Defender of Venezuela, Daniel Ramírez.
According to Ramírez, the Delta is part of the expansion plan of the Immediate Justice initiative, with which the criminal legal situation is reviewed and judicial matters are updated in the instances involved. On this occasion, he prioritized the cases of those deprived of liberty.
“We can verify that in Delta Amacuro there are no numbers that alarm us. We have barely 40 cases of criminal record certificates and as for those who have 75 percent of the physical sentence served, only one case, plus six cases of redemption. In the case of Delta Amacuro, we are going to consign all these documents to an execution judge,” the official explained.
In the Immediate Justice Plan, the Public Defense manages different studies, in the case of inmates, among them, anthropological and psychosocial follow-ups, so that, upon completion, achieve compliance with an alternative sentence formula, when the legal process advances through its execution stage.
The Public Defender highlighted the work of the Criminal Judicial Circuit, by complying with all the requirements stipulated by the laws regarding legal proceedings, as an auxiliary body of the Venezuelan justice system.
“This plan is framed within the judicial revolution to ensure that the affirmation of freedom, due process, prior trial and the social State of law and justice are respected, and that the convicted have the right to opt for an alternative formula of serving their sentence, in which redemption for work and study is recognized, which they have achieved, either in a preventive detention center or judicial internment,” concluded the official.
